Today Is Poem

Today is a new beginning
Today is a fresh start to a decaying past
Today is a break in the ice
Today is an eraser preparing to rid of mistakes
Today is sunshine peaking through closed blinds
Today is an unopened box of surprises
Today is light at the end of a never ending tunnel
Today is the final teardrop rolling off my cheek
Today is a walk away from the blazing fire
And a walk towards the coming horizon
